About Us
Why CookMio Exists
CookMio started with a frustration I couldn't shake: the best home cooking advice I'd found — the tips that actually transformed my weeknight dinners — was scattered across private forums, paywalled courses, and insider cooking groups. The people who needed it most were left wading through generic blog posts and overproduced recipe videos that looked beautiful but delivered unreliable results.
I built CookMio to put that knowledge in one place, for free. Every recipe published here has been cooked in a real home kitchen — my kitchen — using standard equipment and grocery-store ingredients. If a technique doesn't work on a Tuesday night with a toddler pulling at your sleeve, it doesn't make it onto the site.
What You'll Find Here
CookMio covers four areas that, together, form a practical foundation for Western home cooking:
Meals — Recipes organized by when you actually need them: fast breakfasts before work, lunches that reheat well, dinners worth slowing down for, and lighter options when you're watching what you eat.
Ingredients — Focused guides on the proteins, vegetables, and pantry staples you cook with most. Not encyclopedia entries — actionable information on what to buy, how to prep it, and what to make with it tonight.
Tips & Techniques — The methods that make the biggest difference with the least effort. Air fryer timing charts, grill temperature guides, knife basics — the stuff you print out and tape inside a cabinet door.
Food Knowledge — The "why" behind the "how." Which proteins are complete, how long leftovers actually last, what dietary labels really mean. Practical understanding, not textbook theory.
How We Work
We cook everything first. No scraped recipes, no AI-generated instructions. Each recipe is tested, timed, and tasted in a home kitchen before publication. When something doesn't work, we say so.
Allergen and dietary info, always. Every recipe includes allergen notes and dietary restriction details. We know this information can be critical, and we don't treat it as an afterthought.
No credentials, just honesty. I'm a dedicated home cook, not a trained chef or a registered dietitian. When a topic requires professional expertise — medical advice, clinical nutrition, food safety regulations — I'll point you to the right sources instead of pretending to be one.
Free, and staying that way. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no "unlock the full recipe" gates. CookMio is supported by advertising, not reader subscriptions.
